Dear Lincoln Public Schools Families,
We started the week with an epic snowstorm, and are finishing with sun and 40 degrees. Here’s hoping that our future weather is more spring than winter. For this week’s message, I wanted to highlight our recently published FY27 budget book (and accompanying student artwork), and an upcoming fundraising event from the Lincoln School Foundation.
FY27 budget book
As part of the budgeting process each year, we
create an official budget book. This document provides a deep dive into next year’s budget, with specific detail around budget categories, drivers, and trends. Particularly as Lincoln residents head toward Town Meeting at the end of March, when citizens have an opportunity to vote on the town budget, the budget book can be a valuable resource in fully understanding what they’re voting on.
But my favorite part of the budget book is the
student artwork that it highlights. Each year we have artwork from a variety of students throughout the district included in the budget book – a big thank you to all of our student artists whose work is represented, and to our art teachers who helped to curate the selections.
At the end of the day, all of the funding and numbers and budget lines are about our efforts to try to provide the best possible education for our students, and what better addition to the budget book than some examples of our students’ creativity and hard work? So, if you’re not interested in the budget book’s financial details, I would recommend at least taking a look to see some beautiful art.
Lincoln School Foundation fundraiser
The
Lincoln School Foundation (LSF) is a non-profit organization that raises money to help fund teacher-driven grants around curriculum enrichment and professional development. LSF’s upcoming fundraising event,
Lincoln Lounge, is an evening of live jazz, wine tasting, professional photos, tarot readings, and spirited silent auction bidding. It will take place next Saturday, March 7, from 7-10 pm at the Pierce House.
The Silent Auction is LIVE NOW and will remain open until the end of Lincoln Lounge next Saturday. Families and community members can bid on dozens of exciting items, including a 3-night Vermont getaway, Boston Red Sox tickets, a private wine and painting night at Clark Gallery, a Colonial Theatre night out, and a pizza-making party at Codman Farm.
Thank you!
