What's Going On About Our Building

First Lincoln Cup Event of the Year, Tue, Sep. 29

Lincoln Cup is our school-wide culture builder that assigns students and staff across grades 5-8 to one of four Boston sports teams. Every 6-8 weeks students engage in a team exercise that centers around our core values. 

Students should wear team swag or try to at least wear the colors of their teams: Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, or Patriots. 

When your child comes home Tuesday, ask them about what they got out of our first event of the year and how they showed the 4Cs. 

Picture Day is Coming....Mon, Oct. 5

Students should have already brought home flyers for you to order photos if you would like to. You can also sign up via the QR code on the attached flyer. 

All students should take a photo even if their family is not ordering them as this is the photo that goes into our yearbook. 

Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day, Wed, Oct. 7

Our school annually participates in a Walk, Bike, or Roll to School Day each October and typically once in February before our full week engagement in May. 

Students who ride the bus get dropped off at the corner of Lincoln and Ballfield Roads so that they too can "walk" to school. 

Afterschool Activity SignUps -- Still Spots Open

We have a series of afterschool activity options for students in grades 5-8 (and a few for students in grades 1-4). 

Please complete the Lincoln School 5-8 Afterschool Activity form for each child you have that plans to participate in an activity. 

America Clicks (gr. 5-8 on Wednesdays); SDGs for You and Me (gr. 3-6 on Thursdays); and Debate Club (gr. 5-8 on Thursdays) all have spots available still.

WELCOME BACK!

We are looking forward to seeing all of your students for breakfast & lunch in just a few short weeks! As we prepare for the new school year, please review the following important information regarding school meals, meal accounts, applications, and meal modifications.

Menus - Menus will be posted before the start of school. Once they are active, you will be able to access them HERE.  Please remember that menus are subject to change.

MySchoolBucks - MySchoolBucks will be active beginning August 23, 2026. Once the system is active, you will be able to add money to your student’s meal account.

Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications - Attached is the SY27 Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application. Families may submit a paper application or apply online HERE.  

Sharing Your Student’s Eligibility Status - If you would like your student’s Free & Reduced-Price Meal eligibility status to be shared, upon your request, with school principals for qualifying school programs (such as bussing, school pictures, etc.) or with Parks & Recreation, you will need to complete the attached sharing form.

Meal Modifications - If your student requires a substitution or modification to school meals due to a medical condition or food allergy, a medical professional must complete the required form and return it to:

For example, if your student has a documented celiac disease diagnosis and requires gluten-free meals, the medical statement must be completed by a recognized medical authority.

If we do not receive a completed medical statement from a recognized medical professional, your student will receive the regular school meal. Medical statements completed by parents or guardians will not be accepted.

Seasons Are Underway!

Our fall teams have started their seasons...check out our athletics webpage on the website for relevant information. 

Good luck to the field hockey, cross country, and soccer teams on the remainder of their seasons. 

Fall Drama Program

Fall Play - Nov 18-20, 2026

The Hound of the Baskervilles

This year's Lincoln School fall play will be The Hound of the Baskervilles: A Comic Thriller Starring Shirley Holmes and Jennie Watson.  

Please note that stage crew signups will occur soon; Ms. Hall is offering an informational session at lunch this Wednesday, Sept. 30. 

Rehearsals will be held Monday-Thursday after school, with one Sunday rehearsal and one Friday performance. Performances will be November 18th, 19th, and 20th.

What's Happening in Grade 8

Gr. 8 Spring Trip 2027 - Sign Up Before Sept. 30

Enroll before Sept. 30 and you will lock in the current lower price as the price increases nationally on Oct. 1.  With EF’s risk-free enrollment period – you will also have the chance to cancel with a full refund, should your plans change! ​If you are applying for financial aid, I highly advise signing up now to lock in the lower price and then the ​registration fee can always be refunded to you based on if and for what amount you qualify.

Help Out Our Green Team

Want to help at school? Join us as a compost helper! Guide students as they sort their lunch items—volunteer weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Check out our updated training deck, complete a CORI in the main office, and sign up via our Google calendar. Questions? The Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) has created a new website specifically for families to help understand and embrace the nuanced middle years. So whether your middle schooler is the first you’ve had or the 2nd, or 3rd, etc, this website has great resources to help you and your middle level child navigate these years productively.
