Nurse Needed for Lincoln School D.C. Trip
We are in need of a nurse to attend our four-day, three-night overnight trip to D.C. with the 8th grade class. The trip will run Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29. The cost to attend would be covered by the district. If you are a nurse or know of one that may be able to help us out, please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.
Grade 8 D.C. Trip Fundraising Updates
Thank you to all volunteers and “customers” who came out to the Tarbell Room at the library this past weekend to help support the grade 8 fundraising. The group raised $420.
The next fundraiser is another dance for grades 6-8 on January 23, 2026. Parents – we are considering hosting a “Parent Lounge” for parents to get together and mingle while kids are at the dance. We hope this will prevent anyone from feeling like they need to sit in their cars in the parking lot during dances to kill time. Please complete this survey and let us know if you are interested.

New Music Opportunity: Silver Strings
Begins Jan. 14
SILVER STRINGS: Looking for beginners for our Orchestra!
Ms. Gottschalk is starting up our beginning string orchestra, Silver Strings January 14!, to augment the lessons your young musicians are taking during school.
We will start meeting January 14 and go to the end of the school year.
We will be playing exciting orchestral music (for beginners!) in an orchestral setting. This is a wonderful way for the kids to again be part of a musical team working together and preparing for our school orchestra.
We will meet directly after school on Wednesdays for about 45 min. in the middle school music room until our June concert!
This is open to all 5th grade string players and anyone younger who has had private lessons for at least a year. (Sixth graders that might want to be role models for the younger players!)
It is free of charge!
I would encourage all musicians to check it out! If you have occasional conflicts, ie the musical rehearsals or doc appointments, you are welcome to come whenever possible.
I hope your musician will come try it out! We've had a great response in the past and I hope we can use this time to make more music together!
Please let me know if you have any questions! sgottschalk@lincnet.org
Add it in your new 2026 calendars!
