06 March 2026
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to this week’s family update. I want to start by thanking our PTO for a wonderful Book Fair this week. The event was extremely well attended both during the school day and at the extra after school hours as well. I’d also like to thank all of the parents who volunteered to work at the book fair and for the set up and tear down of the event.
As we know it has been a hard winter and there is still a lot of snow on the ground. This has made arrival and dismissal a little more challenging with car traffic. I’d like to ask for everyone’s help to make sure that we are not parking and exiting vehicles in the drop off and pick up lanes and to make sure that we are only parking in designated spots. I know that the parking lots are small and that there is an inherent challenge because of that. My hope is that we will continue to work together to ensure everyone’s safety.
I included a copy (below) of the arrival and dismissal safety information that we sent out at the beginning of the year in case there are any questions.
This weekend we have a group of middle school students who will be traveling to Stoneham to participate in the National History Day Competition. We wish them all good luck and I know they will make Hanscom proud #gofalcons!
I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday.
Warm Regards,
Mr. Ledebuhr

Responding Skillfully in the Context of Childhood Irritability
Wendy Bamatter, PhD
Learning objectives:
Childhood irritability, which can range from developmentally normative to serious and concerning, can often be difficult for adults to manage effectively in the home and at school. Irritability is often paired with behavioral responses like aggression, arguing, withdrawal, and even high-risk behaviors.
In this webinar, caregivers and educators will:
1. Gain a stronger foundational understanding of childhood irritability
2. Learn practical and effective strategies for staying grounded, supportive, and still firm
3. Become familiar with therapeutic interventions that may be used as referral options should children and their families need additional support.
We are thrilled to reach out and notify you that our annual School Consultation Service “Leaders in Youth Mental Health Series” has launched. As noted as part of our partnership, we are offering four free caregiver webinars for the parents and caregivers in your school district.
Important information:
1. All caregivers of school aged children K-12 and school staff in your school/district are invited to attend. Please note that the webinars are restricted to SCS partnerships only and should not be distributed outside your district.
2. Webinars will be hosted live on their scheduled date and time with closed captioning. If you are unable to watch it live, they will be recorded and available “On Demand” shortly afterwards. The On Demand videos will be found on the same website link above.
3. No pre-registration is required for the webinars.
