Lincoln Public Schools Parents and Caregivers,
Each year we invite families and students to complete feedback surveys about their experiences in the Lincoln Public Schools. These surveys provide valuable feedback that directly informs our short and long-term planning and decision-making.
All of our students in grades PK-8 will participate in the annual student surveys over the coming weeks. In grades 3-8 students complete surveys online. The surveys are completely confidential and conducted through a third-party educational survey company.
Each year, we also invite families and caregivers to provide feedback through an anonymous survey. The family surveys are now open and we invite everyone to respond by clicking the link below for your child’s school. If you have children in multiple schools, you are welcome to submit either a single response that captures your general experience in our schools, or you may complete a response for each school where your children attend:
We encourage you to respond today, but the surveys will be open through Friday, May 22nd.

We wrapped up our two days of math MCAS testing this week. Anyone who was absent for at least one of the days will make it up next week.
Science MCAS is up next week for students in grades 5 & 8 only followed by civics MCAS for gr. 8 students only the subsequent week.
Kids have worked very hard and we thank families for ensuring kids are in school on these particular days.

Our recess cart that was once filled with basketballs, footballs, frisbees, soccer balls, and volleyballs is now looking quite sad and empty.
If you do any spring cleaning this week and have any of that gear that you'd like to donate to the middle school recess cart, we'll be happy to take it upon the kids' return to school.

Funds help support end of the year activities for 8th graders.
Attention 8th graders: Be sure to sign up for a shift to support the annual car wash that goes entirely toward end-of-year happenings for grade 8 students. Talk with you families about which shift would work best for you and sign up at the link on Google Classroom that Ms. Reynolds posted.

Dear Lincoln School Composting Volunteers,
As we look ahead to the end year, we are in dire need of volunteers and would be delighted to see you again– or to have you help spread the word about this important work we are doing in our school with others who might also be interested in volunteering.
If you'd like to spend time with your child as you volunteer, your child is welcome to join you at the compost table if they would like to pull up a chair and eat their lunch with you, don a pair of composting gloves, or use the coveted composting tongs!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or suggestions. Thank you again for your invaluable support!
Most sincerely,
Gwen & Nicole

Dear Parents & Guardians,
Massachusetts law mandates school districts to screen students for possible substance use. To address this mandate we will be conducting a screening program to take place for all 8th grade students attending the Lincoln Public Schools (for more information about the law, please visit http://www.masbirt.org/schools). The screening will take place during the day on May 21, 2026 at the Hanscom School and the Lincoln 5-8 School. The goal of this program is to let students know that we are available to support healthy decisions and to assist them in obtaining support if needed for substance use related problems.
See the recent letter sent out by Mr. Peledge for details and way to opt out if you so choose.

Join Lincoln Sports Academy for its inaugural year - what we expect to be the highlight of the summer! This special week builds on the traditions so many have come to love: friendly, competitive games like soccer, capture the flag, football, gatorball (and more!), relaxing lunches at the pool, and a weeklong, camp-wide tournament that brings everyone together, win or lose. It's EPIC!
We’re also excited to introduce new games and traditions that will make this experience even more memorable!
Camp is sponsored by Lincoln Parks & Recreation and led by Lincoln residents Bryan Doo and Kurt MacLaurin. Bryan’s company, Optimal Fitness, will operate the camp, bringing over 25 years of experience to our town. The camp will run rain or shine, with activities held on Codman Field and also in the Reed Gym.
